About MetaCleanse
MetaCleanse is a focused privacy tool: it reads the hidden metadata inside your photos, shows you exactly what's there, and produces a clean copy with EXIF, GPS and other traces removed. One drop zone, one click, and your images are safe to share.
Every operation runs entirely in your browser. There are no accounts, no ads and no analytics that sell your behaviour. Your photos — including the sensitive ones you're cleaning precisely because they're sensitive — never leave your device or touch a server.
It is built and maintained by Interhive OÜ, a small studio in Tallinn that makes tiny, dependable web tools.
What it does

Inspect the EXIF, GPS, IPTC and XMP data hidden inside any photo before you share it.
- Strip EXIF & GPS
Produce a clean copy with location, device and timestamps removed by re-encoding the image.
- Batch cleaning
Drop in dozens of photos, clean them all at once and download every stripped copy.
- Fully offline
Everything happens in your browser — no uploads, no accounts, no tracking.
- Verify results
Re-open a cleaned file to confirm no metadata remains inside it.
